Krepkuri Residents Happily Welcomed The Habemas's Socialization

NDUGA - One of the military units under the command of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA, the Task Forces of the Para Raider Infantry Battalion 503/Mayangkara Kostrad, is currently conducting mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in Nduga Regency, Papua Pegunungan Province. On Monday, 30 September 2024, the 503 Task Forces conducted Social Communication (Komsos) with residents of Krepkuri District while conducting areal protection tasks.

Emphasizing the pivotal role of the community, Lieutenant Colonel Gurbasa Samosir, Commander of the 503 Task Forces, stressed the importance of the Task Forces’ focus on the community's fundamental needs in the assigned area. Therefore, on Monday, the Soldiers took advantage of the protection tasks through interaction and communication with Krepkuri residents. The 503 Task Forces conducted the interaction in connection with the socialization of efforts to prevent stunting in the Krepkuri District.

While maintaining their focus on security, the Soldiers took the opportunity to communicate in harmony with the residents. In this communication, the Soldiers visited the area with some Officials of the Krepkuri Village and the Health Workers of the Krepkuri District. After the socialization, the Soldiers distributed nutritious food to the children who attended the occasion. Those nutritious foods included milk, green bean porridge, jelly, and biscuits. In response to the stunting event, a Papuan Mother, Ita Sondegau, said, "Thank you, Commander 503. God bless." This heartwarming response from the residents, filled with hope and optimism, underscores the impact of the Army's efforts on the region's future.

After receiving the activity report, the HABEMA Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, acknowledged the 503 Task Forces’ initiative to communicate socially with the Krepkuri residents and the stunting socialization. His words: "The 503 Task Forces' initiative is a testament to TNI's commitment to conduct inclusive social communication with all stakeholders to support the acceleration of development in the Papua region." This acknowledgment from the highest authority in HABEMA, filled with respect and value, underscores the significant impact of such initiatives on the region's development.
