Habema Soldiers Spread Warmth and Hope with Free Clothes for Ambobera Children

PAPUA - In a heartfelt display of compassion and community care, the Raider Infantry Battalion 323/Buaya Putih Kostrad, under the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA, reached out to residents of Ambobera Village, Beoga District, Papua Tengah Province. On Thursday, January 23, 2025, during a routine patrol, the 323 Task Forces led by First Lieutenant Ari Surahman turned their mission into a meaningful act of kindness by distributing free clothes to children along their route.

Commander of the 323 Task Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Tri Wiratno, inspired his Soldiers with a powerful reminder before their mission: “Let every patrol be an opportunity to make a positive impact beyond its routine duties.” This encouragement motivated the Soldiers to engage in Social Communication, an initiative aimed at fostering trust and strengthening ties with local communities.

As the Soldiers navigated the scenic yet challenging terrain of Ambobera, they shared warm interactions with residents and distributed free clothes to delighted children. One of the grateful mothers, Maria Otimuka, shared her heartfelt thanks: “Thank you for the free clothes for our children, Commander 323. God bless.”

The initiative reflects the broader mission of the Indonesian Armed Forces in Papua, which extends beyond security to actively support the government’s program for accelerating development in the region. By building bridges of understanding and goodwill, such acts of humanity reaffirm the TNI's role as both protectors and partners of the Papuan people.
